Post Season Opt-In/Opt-Out

The 2023-2024 post season will run from March 11 – 28, 2024
There are 3 Events to allow everyone the opportunity to enjoy the post season based on the rankings at the end of the regular season:
– Club Championship
– Consolation
– Last Chance
The playoff games will be scheduled in a bonspiel format and will be played out on any day throughout the event (Mondays – Thursdays only)

We ask that all teams report if they would like to Opt-In or Opt-Out of the playoff rounds in advance to make the draw creation easier and avoid unnecessary byes.

Club Championship Event – Double Knock-Out
The top 4 teams of each night become eligible for the Club Championship Event based on having the highest cumulative win/loss point total from all regular season games.

The winner of this event becomes Pembina’s Club Champion of the season!
Both Winner and Finalist are awarded berths to represent Pembina Curling Club at the Seagram’s Whisky Curling Club City Regional Qualifier event in the 2024-2025 season.
*Pending team elegibility as per Curl Canada’s guidelines
**Additional playoffs may be required the following season

Spare Rules for Club Championship Event
– Teams are allowed one spare of any gender in the Club Championship Draw
– A spare may participate in all games including the A-Side/B-Side Semi-Finals, A-Side/B-Side Finals, and A-B-Final game. The spare must play the Lead position.
– Spares must be Regular Members or Affiliate Members of the Pembina Curling Club.
– Registered 5th Member may play any position
– Spares must not be Members of any team still participating in the Club Championship (Members of teams eliminated must spare at the Lead position)

Tie-Breakers
Tie-Breakers will be decided first by point total then most Wins.
If still tied, Head-to-Head results of the tied teams will be used.
If still tied, a Tie-Breaker game may be required.

Consolation Event – Single Knock-Out
The Consolation Event will have at least 4 teams from each night that are ranked based on highest cumulative win/loss point total from all regular season games.

Last Chance Event – Single Knock-Out
The remaining teams of each night become eligible for the Last Chance Event based on having the lowest cumulative win/loss point total from all regular season games.

Spare Rules for Consolation & Last Chance Events
– Spares of any gender must be registered Regular Members or Affiliate Members of the Pembina Curling Club
– Spares must play the Lead position

Games will not be rescheduled under any circumstances
